Thuthukani Ndlovu: Co-founder ST2 Group

Thuthukani started his entrepreneurial journey as a teenager in the streets of Braamfontein in Johannesburg where he would source old newspapers and magazines from companies located in the city; he would then sell these newspapers and magazines, in bulk, to paper recycling plants around the city of Johannesburg. “This was good pocket money for a teen and it taught me how to hustle, negotiate and strike deals”

A short while later, in 2006, whilst doing his mechanical engineering studies, Thuthukani and his brother Sicebile Started ST2. Thuthukani has been a major influence in terms ST2 evolving into what it is today.

Thuthukani’s high energy and high enthusiasm approach to life and business has allowed ST2 to grow and build long term relationships that serve as a foundation for future growth.

Every team needs a broad thinker, a “big picture guy” who’s able to dream the big dreams, then go out and find the tools required to make those dreams a reality; for the ST2 team Thuthukani is that guy.

Sicebile Ndlovu: Co-founder ST2 Group

Sicebile has almost 20 years of experience in business. In ST2’s formative period as a business, Sicebile, with his brother Thuthukani, started a number of different business ventures under the ‘ST2 banner”, these ranged from distributing lawnmowers to retailers, to sourcing and supplying plumbing materials to a myriad of other businesses typical of any young person starting out in business and trying to find a place in the unforgiving business environment.

Having failed and succeeded in various businesses, Sicebile, much like Thuthukani, has been hardened in a way that only harsh encounters with reality can harden someone.

We should always measure the soundness of our decisions by asking the question “will this choice help us become the company we want to be in 50 years?” This not only tests the strength of our decisions but also helps shape our culture over time.
