ST2 Group is an investment holding company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. ST2 Group was founded by brothers Thuthukani Ndlovu and Sicebile Ndlovu.

ST2 was founded in 2006 by the Ndlovu brothers who recognized an opportunity to develop a fuel trading business that would source fuel from the oil majors and distribute it to high volume end users. After a few years of successfully operating a fuel wholesale business, the Ndlovu brothers recognized the need to differentiate themselves in an increasingly crowded fuel trading environment. Consequently, Thuthukani and Sicebile sought out to build a more vertically integrated business that would have some presence in each of the segments of the oil and gas value chain.

This has led to ST2 evolving into an investment company that seeks to participate in each step of the oil and gas value chain across both the upstream and downstream spheres.

As ST2 has engaged in different spaces of the energy environment in Southern Africa, many opportunities that align with our long term objectives have arisen, as a result today ST2 Group looks to invest in, and operate, businesses in the broader energy space with focus on oil and gas, specialty chemicals and renewable energy.

What’s in a name?

“ST2” simply represents the names of both Sicebile (S) and Thuthukani (T), the two (2) brothers who founded ST2. Further to this; at the core of everything we do is a great sense of responsibility.

Taking into account the history of our country South Africa, and of course the greater African continent; we recognize and carry, both the unique opportunity and great responsibility, of being part of a generation of Africans who now have the opportunity to invest in and develop the African continent in a way that can help rewrite the African narrative.

Our Ethos

Believe: “Battles are won and lost when one side no longer Believes it can win”. At ST2 we are driven to succeed and we are driven to contribute in a meaningful and tangible way to the development of the African continent. The challenges are vast and real but at our core is a belief that, even in the most testing moments, victory is never beyond our reach. We believe.

Hope: : “A feeling of trust”. We reside, perennially, in a state of trust that what we set out to achieve will be achieved, perhaps at times the wisdom of our ideas is not quickly realized. There is always a middle part; the space that exists between the beginning of a journey and the moment when victory is realized. The middle part is where most give up. The middle part requires hope and it requires an immovable level of trust in the wisdom of our decisions.

Transcend: “Be or go beyond the range or limits of (a field of activity or conceptual sphere)'“. as the saying goes “A man’s reach should always exceed his grasp”. We believe that it is only through engaging in pursuits that are greater than anything we have done before that we can evolve into better versions of ourselves as individuals and as a collective.
